Vinted Scams: Buyer and Seller Warning Signs

Scammers can imitate buyers, sellers, couriers or Vinted itself. The safest approach is to keep activity inside the official app, verify payment there and distrust unexpected links or requests for account details.

Scammers can imitate buyers, sellers, couriers or Vinted itself. The safest approach is to keep activity inside the official app, verify payment there and distrust unexpected links or requests for account details.

Use the checks below to slow the situation down, verify the claim through a separate route and avoid giving a suspicious contact more information or control.

Keep activity in the official app

Be cautious if another user quickly asks you to continue by email, text or another messaging service. Moving outside the platform can expose you to fake payment pages and makes the original interaction harder to assess.

Do not trust unexpected payment links

A buyer or seller should not need you to sign in through a link they send. Open the Vinted app independently and use its own workflow rather than a page reached from a message.

Verify sales and payments inside Vinted

Do not treat an email, screenshot or chat message as proof that a sale or payment is complete. Check the transaction status inside your own Vinted account before sending an item or taking further action.

Protect account details

Never provide passwords, one-time codes or unnecessary banking information because another user says it is needed to release a payment or verify your identity.

Use Vinted support and reporting

Use Vinted’s Help Centre and Trust and Safety routes from the official app or website if something looks wrong. If you exposed card or bank information, contact your bank independently.
